Pacquiao’s faith and political bias

Sen. Manny Pacquiao should separate his private religious beliefs from his political biases. Sometimes I think he still lives in the Old Testament. But with Jesus, we now live in the New Testament.

Not everyone embraces religious beliefs, like the atheist and agnostic. But everybody lives in a world of politics, citizens all, including nonpoliticians.

If Pacquiao now feels better as a Born-Again Christian, I am happy for him and his family.

But in the modern world, you need answers to new questions. You need proof and facts, not mere beliefs. Faith is good, but you need also to be realistic, you need effective solutions to problems. If everyone lives life like the religious Amish in the United States do, yes, we will all be blessed and can look forward to a brighter world. But we know this isn’t so.

The Bible is an interesting book, but don’t use it against other people, and be careful: In interpreting spiritual books like the Bible, Torah or Koran, we could end up “preaching” lots of nonsense which, to be sure, are not in the mind of God.
