Living on with reading, writing

/ 12:06 AM March 07, 2017

I am 81 years old and just recovering from sickness. I was in and out of the hospital for three months. My friends and neighbors thought I was about to die. But my children always whispered to me that I would miss reading newspapers and writing letters. I am happy that I can still read without eyeglasses.

As soon as I was able to read and write again last January, I wrote a letter to my sister Aurora, my brother Menard, and to my friend Lyn. Last February I wrote to my favorite newspaper letters to the editor.

I thank the Inquirer for inspiring me to live longer.
