Quoted out of context

08:12 PM August 16, 2011

I REFER to the news item titled “Poll fixers going out of business” (Inquirer, 8/9/11), which had the subtitle “Mission impossible.”

I was quoted out of context because only a small portion of what I said during the Mass was quoted. The news report omitted my statement to the effect that with God we can find the truth and hold liable those who engaged in election fraud in 2004 and 2007. I said a prayer for wisdom, guidance, courage and protection to help us carry out our mission which I gladly accept. I wanted to point out that, away from God, we can do nothing. Please remember that these statements were made impromptu when Father Robert Reyes, the running priest, surprised me by calling me in front to give some remarks concerning the Joint Comelec-Department of Justice Panel that will investigate election fraud.
