‘Nandito na naman tayo’

12:02 AM December 19, 2016

Karl Jaspers, a German-Swiss philosopher, exposed the evils and injustices committed by the Nazi regime in Germany during World War II. He said, “If we shy away from engaging protests simply because our protests may not change things… then we are guilty of just being alive.”

Hence, if I may add, we have no reason for living!

During the Nov. 30, 2016, protest rally at Edsa, I was able to briefly converse with lawyer Rene Saguisag, popularly dubbed as “ang sagisag ng demokrasya” during the time of Tita Cory. He muttered, “Nandito na naman tayo!” His statement was politically loaded.
