The Gil Puyat (formerly Buendia) Extension?from Taft Avenue to Roxas Boulevard?should be spruced up in time for the Non-Aligned Movement meeting scheduled in Manila next year.
This road stretch is a vital link to the Cultural Center of the Philippines complex and to the Makati Central Business District corridor.
Graffiti, busted street lights, an unkempt center island, uneven sidewalks, missing steel railings and many others are an eyesore to people passing by this route.
Pasay City officials and the Metro Manila Development Authority should join hands in enhancing the physical appearance of this major stretch not only for the sake of foreign tourists but most especially for the sake of Metro Manilans.
