THE EDITORIAL on ?Copenhagen calls? (Inquirer, 11/8/09) is loud and clear. We have to stop global warming. Sadly, however, it only focused on one of two approaches to oppose climate change: reduction of carbon emissions, which is also the more impracticable strategy as evidenced by the stringent opposition of the United States and China.
The more doable approach is to absorb green house gases already emitted in the atmosphere by planting billions of trees. Planting trees also serve many other beneficial programs which are already known and too numerous to enumerate.
So, why don?t we plant trees?
