Please deliver us from speeches

Philippine Daily Inquirer

I WOULD like to suggest to President Macapagal-Arroyo, Vice President Noli de Castro, all senators, congressmen and Cabinet secretaries that they donate their salary for one month to the cities, town and barangays that were hit and devasted by storm ?Ondoy? and typhoon ?Pepeng.?

Politicians should stop delivering speeches. Their speeches won?t do any good. Funds and action are what we need right now. Talking and talking, planning and planning won?t help solve our problems.

These people are earning a lot of money every month. They should be kind enough to help. I like to help but my pension every month is so little it is hardly enough to cover my own personal expenses. Donations from them will be one of the best remedies to help the victims of Ondoy and Pepeng.

If they are real human beings then they should do this to prove their love and devotion to the millions of displaced, homeless families in Luzon.
