I AM REQUESTING the immediate release of the Government Service Insurance System?s re-computation of my retirement benefits. I submitted the pertinent documents to the GSIS-Tacloban regional office in February 2009.
For the record, seven months [letter was sent in September 2009 by snail mail] had already passed; but I have yet to get a clear-cut assurance as to when I am going to finally receive my retirement benefits in full. I did receive a partial amount in January 2009.
I fervently hope that this time the GSIS will finally give me a precise update on my retirement benefits, as well as a computation thereof and a long-overdue check payment therefor.
At 64, I am already tired of waiting. Personally, this ?retirement experience? has been the most distressing and most agonizing experience in my life after my more than three decades of government service in the Department of Education.
