2010 start of break from ‘trapo’ grip

THIS is a reaction to the news article titled ?Green activist announces bid to seek the presidency.? (Inquirer, 6/18/09) We welcome this development and see this a sign that people espousing alternative forms of governance and policies are now coming out seeking a break from the current situation of our country.

Nick Perlas is banking on his experience working with farmers and foreign officials, but his ace would be the clamor of Filipinos for change. Most of us are already disillusioned with the Arroyo administration and are looking for genuine alternatives, especially ones who have clear, environmentally sound initiatives.

We hope that more candidates like Perlas would seek not just the presidency but other offices as well, like the vice presidency and the Senate. We have had enough of traditional politicians and we want real change. The coming elections may be start of that change.
