Rail at the lapdogs, not at their US master

Philippine Daily Inquirer

Filed Under: Foreign affairs & international relations, Subic rape case, Protest

It is quite disheartening to see our youth wasting their time in front of the US Embassy, making all kinds of denunciation. In the process, they get bludgeoned, bruised and battered by our own law enforcers for insisting on getting dangerously close to such ?hallowed? premises.

Don?t they still get it? There is nothing the Americans are doing in this country without the approval of Malacañang! For instance, the accused Daniel Smith could not have made it to the comfort of the US Embassy?s holding room without the indispensable cooperation of our government. The team that whisked him out of the Makati City jail in the dead of night was headed by no less than the interior secretary, Ronaldo Puno.

It is quite obvious that the youth should be demonstrating against the satraps of this government for being such lapdogs to a foreign power. That?s as plain as it can get. Are our militants really too stupid to understand that?
