Arrested ‘agent’ in SK not ours

Philippine Daily Inquirer
First Posted 23:53:00 02/22/2009

Filed Under: Judiciary (system of justice), Crime

WE read about the arrest of a certain Romeo Fernando dela Cruz during a raid on the office of First Integrated Bonding & Insurance Co. Inc. in Tacurong, Sultan Kudarat. He was reportedly arrested for issuing fake LTO certificates of registration and official receipts. (Inquirer, 2/9/09)

We wish to make it clear to the Inquirer and the public that our company has no office in Tacurong and has not authorized anyone in the past and until now to open an office in the Visayas and Mindanao areas. Our only office is in Makati City.

Romeo Fernando dela Cruz is not an accredited agent of our company and has no right or authority to use the name of First Integrated Bonding & Insurance Co. Inc.

The news report tarnished our reputation as a credible and trusted insurance company. May we point out that the production and issuance of fake LTO certificates of registration and official receipts are not in any way connected with the business of insurance.

?NEMESIO L. MAKALINTAL, administrative assistant, First Integrated Bonding & Insurance Co. Inc., 109 Gamboa St., Legazpi Village, Makati City
