In your editorial of Jan. 2, “Ghastly Gaza,” you praise Israel’s democracy as if that excuses its atrocities in the Gaza Strip. Nazi Germany of the mid-1930s was also a democracy.
In addition, Nazi Germany had a strong culture of victimhood, feelings of racial superiority (with the resultant devaluing of the lives of other human beings) and constant theft of other people’s lands. Can anyone opine that Israel today is not eerily similar to Hitler’s Germany of 1934?
These facts beg two questions: What good is a racist, human-rights-abusing democracy? And why would anyone support it?
