I refer to the letter of Sr. Mary John Mananzan, OSB, sent from Ndanda Friory, Tanzania in East Africa. (Philippine Daily Inquirer, 9/26/08) Sister Mary John challenges and criticizes the Court of Appeals? decision denying Rodolfo Lozada?s petition for the writ of amparo. She claims to have been ?enraged? and ?frustrated by the unfairness of it? and ?had my misgivings.?
Sister Mary John?s knowledge of the Lozada incident is limited to what Lozada and his wife had told her. I ask: How accurate is the story she got for her to question the decision of the justices of the Court of Appeals? Even the lowly poor souls from the remote areas of the islands knew that the whole thing was a sting. As a matter of fact, Lozada was treated well and protected from those in the opposition who wished to silence him.
Sister Mary John claims that our courts are ?politicized and are therefore incapable of rendering justice to our people.? And how about Sister Mary John? Isn?t she one of the most politicized persons in this country which is something so ugly for a nun to be?
Allow me to be honest and frank: It?s people like Sister Mary John who have caused more trouble in this country and added so much noise to the destabilization of our nation.
I have one suggestion to make: Why doesn?t Sister Mary John, national co-chair Association of Major Religious Superiors of the Philippines no less, stay in Tanzania for good and leave us alone. She is a rabble-rouser, a shame to the faithful who live up to the Christian values as taught us by Christ.
The amount of deception that Sister Mary John and her cohorts, together with the Lozada clan, have spewed on our young unknowing students all over the country is enough to defrock this pseudo-nun who is so faraway from being beatified much less canonized.
Sister, Lozada was not kidnapped. You all made it up!
