The world knows who killed Ninoy Aquino

Philippine Daily Inquirer

Filed Under: Crime, Law & Justice

While watching “Beyond Conspiracy: 25 Years after the Aquino Assassination” (shown by ABS-CBN Broadcasting last Aug. 24), I felt sad not only for Sen. Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino but also for all Filipinos. Although the mastermind remains unknown to our justice system, he already is known to the whole world.

It’s heartbreaking to know that the people responsible for the assassination are still roaming free, partying and even winning cases upon cases involving their ill-gotten wealth. “Beyond Conspiracy” clearly shows that there was in fact a military plot to kill Ninoy, and the people involved would not have done it without instructions from the highest echelons of leadership.

Some of them will never be pinned down because of the absence of hard evidence or because they are dead. But for me, even though they got away with this crime here on earth, they will still get what is due them, meted out by God in heaven.
