Did I hear the news right? A $100-million Pacquiao-De la Hoya bout this coming December? Now this is one big joke or, better yet, hoax of a fight. I believe it’s nothing but a “Manny-making” project that’s good for the “Oscar awards.”

My hunch is that the fight will be acted out (by lead stars Manny Pacquiao and Oscar de la Hoya, with the referee and the judges in supporting roles), ably directed and scripted to the “draw” unless one of the two superstars would be willing to take the role of the “vanquished” at the end of the story—for a much, much bigger take of the purse, of course, plus other obese deals on the side.

So, to the boxing fans all over the world: “See you at the movies!”
