Tuguegarao-Kabugao road also needs rehab

Philippine Daily Inquirer
First Posted 04:25:00 08/02/2008

Filed Under: Road Transport, Minority groups

In the news item “Arroyo wants Cordillera roads done by 2009” (Philippine Daily Inquirer 7/24/08), the Apayao road was not included in the list. Only the Halsema and the Baguio-Aritao roads were mentioned.

We, therefore, appeal to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to include the Tuguegarao-Kabugao road, which she promised to rehabilitate also when she went to Apayao on Feb. 14, 2006.

We, the Apayaos, will be very grateful to her for this as the road will also immortalize the memory of her father as the first president of the country to visit Kabugao, the provincial capital of Apayao, by taking a motorboat up the Apayao River in the 1960s.
