Adamson screaming for truth

Philippine Daily Inquirer
First Posted 22:15:00 05/13/2008

When truth bearer Jun Lozada came to attend the Mass for truth at the St. Vincent de Paul Church on Feb. 24, 2008, the church façade and walls of Adamson University were festooned with huge “SPEAK THE TRUTH” streamers. They were hung to celebrate the courage of one individual who told the truth, and to cry in protest against those who chose to hide it. Little did the university know that one of those streamers would land on the front page of the Philippine Daily Inquirer’s March 13, 2008 issue, thus making the message reverberate throughout the archipelago and online.

The streamer still hangs from the school’s perimeter wall, its scream refusing to be left unheard, hoping that even if Lozada slips into oblivion, those for whom the message is meant will finally learn to tell what everyone deserves and has the right to know.

Adamson University thanks the Philippine Daily Inquirer for believing in the importance and urgency of the slogan and deeply appreciates its own crusade for truth through its rare brand of fearless journalism.
