I favor the Makati Business Club’s call for the resignation of Commission on Higher Education Chair Romulo Neri and Environment and Natural Resources Secretary Lito Atienza, never mind that the businessmen’s concern should be the economy. The fact is the government is working hard for the economic elite, not necessarily for the poor.

If these businessmen oppose corrupt government, then the powers-that-be will be alarmed and will become more conscious and careful about doing wrong.

The business sector should care not only about the economy, but also about morality and integrity in government.
