We in Universal McCann have always been concerned about the lawful use of outdoor advertising. Repeatedly in the past few months, we have called attention to structures that encroach on the road right of way, and therefore are obvious violations of the law.

So we welcome and laud the actions taken by the Department of Public Works and Highways in dismantling such illegal structures on sidewalks and center islands of roads in various parts of Metro Manila. This started on the night of the day we had a meeting with Public Works and Highway Secretary Hermogenes Ebdane about the problem.

We appreciate Secretary Ebdane for taking time to dialogue with us and for quickly taking concrete actions.

We are hopeful this will be a continuing effort on his part. From our end, we would like to assure him that we will continue to be vigilant as we are one with him in this mission.
