Top Rank big boss Bob Arum is planning to put up a mega-card featuring four of the best fighters in the superflyweight division sometime later this year.
The card will pit IBF flyweight champ Nonito Donaire Jr. against popular Mexican Jorge Arce in the co-feature, while WBO superfly ruler Fernando Montiel takes on WBC/WBA king Cristian Mijares in the co-main event.
The Arthro Kontra Arthritis-backed Donaire is currently training in California for his July 26 title defense underneath the Miguel Cotto-Antonio Margarito mega-showdown at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
The IBF has ruled that Donaire will have to fight the winner of the IBF eliminator between No. 6 ranked Moruti “Baby Face Mithalane (21-1, 15 KO’s) and No. 14 Hussein Hussein (31-4, 24 KO’s) set for July 5 in South Africa.
Donaire inked a promotional agreement with Arum recently in Las Vegas, just days after announcing that he was already a promotional free agent following his split with promoter Gary Shaw.
