Is there any such thing as ‘safe’ abortion?

12:01 AM April 11, 2016

RINA Jimenez David takes liberties with the English language in her column “Religion and rights” (Opinion, 3/29/16). She mentions “the prevalence of unsafe abortion” in India. There is no such thing as safe abortion as—except in very rare cases—the child does not survive, since the whole purpose is to kill him/her. And, far too often—and even once is too often—neither does the mother, even where abortion is legal.

David seemingly approves of “the individual’s right to decide for himself/herself what is right or wrong,” thereby justifying the corruption that is a cancer in many societies, particularly in the Philippines.
