Facts all messed up

Sonny Melencio, chair, Partido Lakas ng Masa, condemns Israel for escalating the war against the Palestinians by targeting innocent civilians, and calls on the Philippine government to withdraw its ambassador from Israel, cut diplomatic ties and end any military and defense ties with that country that is fighting for its survival (“Intensify economic, diplomatic boycott of Israel,” Opinion, 7/23/14).

He has his facts all screwed up. Without any provocation, Hamas fires rockets indiscriminately into Israel territory daily.

He should read about Mosab Hassan Yousef, the son of one of the founders of Hamas, the Muslim terrorist organization, and learn the reasons he forsook his beliefs and turned Christian. The Hamas, Yousef says, does not care about the Jews, the Christians, or even their own people. They will kill indiscriminately. Their goal is not just the extermination of the Jewish state, but to impose their ideology on the whole world. They were trained as young as five years old on this murderous religious ideology. The people and government of Israel want to live peacefully with the Palestinians and come to an accord with Hamas. Hamas refuses as its members are committed to their goal of exterminating the Jews. Just like Adolf Hitler, remember?

The Jews have contributed immensely to the betterment of mankind through their scientists, physicians, professors, artists, musicians, authors, etc., too numerous to list in this letter. But I can supply Melencio with a list of these learned men and their individual accomplishment to society. The Muslims have none, zilch, nada.

FEATURED STORIES

Perhaps Melencio would rather have a branch of Hamas here?
