SSS: 3 months to verify unposted contributions

/ 11:29 PM June 17, 2011

THIS IS in reference to Marides L. Willdig’s letter regarding the manual verification of her unposted SSS contributions. (Inquirer, 6/8/11)

Willdig said: “I requested for manual verification of my unposted SSS contributions through SSS Mandaluyong on Feb. 20, 2011. I was made to understand that it would take three months to do this although a poster in the SSS premises commits to do this in 10 days. Until now, according to Ms Connie Rosete of SSS Mandaluyong, who patiently deals with my queries, there is still no word from the head office regarding my request.”

The 10- day period refers to the processing time for SSS services under the Citizen’s Charter as provided by the Anti-Red Tape Act. It does not include the manual verification of contributions that takes a minimum of three months. Manual verification procedures require digging up records dating back several years.

According to the Contributions Accounting Department, the results of the manual verification into Willdig’s records will be ready for release to SSS Mandaluyong on June 13. Willdig can call SSS Mandaluyong to ask for the result.
