A call to Nur Misuari: ‘Please have a heart for peace’

/ 10:56 PM September 27, 2013

Nur Misuari seems to relish being in the limelight of the terror and violence in Zamboanga. And even if he had said that the Zamboanga “invasion” was not his own doing, the MNLF (Moro National Liberation Front) troops would not have moved the way they did without his command.  Now, he and his followers are causing too much damage in terms of property loss and shattered lives on the part of the victims of this war he started. The more than 100,000 displaced families should move his conscience. What will happen to them and their future?

The best thing for Misuari to do is to call off attacks from his troops and admit his mistake. The crisis must end soon because hundreds of thousands more will be hungry, homeless and even become emotionally affected.

Misuari, please have a heart for peace. If you really love and care for the Bangsamoro, please talk peace with the government. This is the only way to end the conflict.

War is cruel, war is expensive, but peace is free. Please think of the dire consequences this continuing war will bring to the region.
