Very special suspect

/ 12:27 AM September 12, 2013

How come Janet Lim-Napoles, the mastermind of the pork barrel scandal, could be accommodated with a 10-minute meeting with President Aquino at Malacañang and thereafter gets special treatment and Interior Secretary Mar Roxas calls her “ma’am”?

Napoles gets special attention every time her blood pressure reportedly shoots up, and the filing of the cases against her is being delayed.

President Aquino and officials of his administration are showing a lot of care for an accused scam artist. What happened to all of Mr. Aquino’s “daang matuwid” talk?

Meanwhile, Mr. Aquino’s favorite target, Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, who actually has a serious illness and had a botched surgery that she has to deal with until now, gets pushed around in a wheelchair and Mr. Aquino jokes about it. But it takes only Napoles’ blood pressure to shoot up for everything to stop because she has to be taken care of.

FEATURED STORIES
