Senior government official mocks President Aquino’s inaugural vow

10:58 PM August 27, 2013

During his inaugural address, President Aquino asked if we the citizens had ever waited patiently in traffic for several hours only to be brushed aside by officials of an uncaring government. He promised no more of that.

However, a high government official whose office is in Legazpi Village, Makati, habitually turns from Gamboa into Adelantado Street, which is a one-way street. His security escorts radio the security at the office building to block traffic to allow him and his security to counterflow. This is arrogance of power! The official acts like he is above the law. His own boss would not do such a thing. What happened to the President’s promise? A member of his official family is brazenly making a mockery of his promise.

I challenge this senior government official to have his driver and backup security driver ticketed for violation of traffic rules. When I attempted to get the names of the building’s security detail, they all hid their identity cards! Also unfortunately, I was unable to click on the camera of my cell phone to take a picture as I was driving.
