What about owners of private property?

/ 10:08 PM August 02, 2013

Cry havoc and let loose the dogs of war! Parañaque City Rep. Gustavo Tambunting has filed a bill in Congress seeking to institute a Code of Conduct for Demolition and Eviction of Homeless and Underprivileged Citizens.

The bill declares that every citizen has the inherent right to life and to adequate housing; hence it shall be the policy of the state to discourage the practice of eviction and demolition. Therefore, demolition and eviction shall be allowed only when these are inevitable and after prior clearance has been secured from the national or local office of the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor, barangay officials, concerned departments, agencies and local government units.

Furthermore, the participation of the police and other law enforcement personnel shall be limited to peacekeeping.

Representative Tambunting has made what is already exceedingly difficult impossible, and the lives of private property owners miserable. What is happening to our country? What planet did Tambunting come from?
