Belmonte of Iligan received pork barrel

/ 11:14 PM January 06, 2013

This letter is written on behalf of Rep. Vicente F. Belmonte Jr. of the lone district of Iligan.

In the Jan. 2 issue of the Inquirer, an article written by Gil C. Cabacungan titled “DBM released P140-M pork for ex-solon via ‘caretaker,’” Representative Belmonte was mentioned as a representative of Lanao del Norte and one of the members of the opposition who received zero pork barrel last year.

May we clarify the following:

1. Representative Belmonte is not the representative of Lanao del Norte but of Iligan.

2. Representative Belmonte is not a member of the opposition; he is a member of the Liberal Party.

3. The good congressman is not among those who received zero pork barrel allocations last year. As a matter of fact, he received his pork barrel for 2011 and 2012.—ROSEVI QUEENIE C. BELMONTE, chief political affairs officer of Hon. Vicente F. Belmonte Jr., Lone District, Iligan City
