OSG coordinates closely with other gov’t offices

09:53 PM September 22, 2011

This refers to the article published in the Inquirer on Sept. 18, titled “Malacañang sees no need to revamp legal team,” which stated that “critics said members of the legal team should have better coordination to make sure they would win their cases before the SC.”

We reiterate that the Office of the Solicitor General is in full consultation with the other members of President Aquino’s legal team. The solicitor general himself has frequent meetings with Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa, Justice Secretary Leila de Lima and Deputy Executive Secretary for Legal Affairs Michael Aguinaldo to coordinate on legal options and necessary steps that need to be taken when significant issues involving the government are involved.

It is hoped that this clarifies the abovementioned matter. More importantly, we would like to assure the public of our full commitment to uphold the rule of law and pursue a just society for the Filipino people.
