Follow what makes sense

Assuming that the Philippines is the only country without divorce, is it necessary for our country to follow the world?,” Mr. Leandro N. Opetina asked in his letter (“Not the only one,” 8/19/17).

Well, if it makes sense and, if we do not overuse it to the point of abusing it, what’s wrong with it?

Divorce is a way of liberating people from the pains and miseries of a failed marriage. They deserve a chance to get out of it, correct their mistakes and, ultimately, find the right partner for a happy life.
