Lomboy’s claim still under evaluation

/ 12:04 AM May 27, 2017

This refers to Vivian M. Lomboy’s letter titled, “A cry for help from SSS pensioner” (Opinion, 5/2/17).

We would like to inform Lomboy that according to the SSS Medical Program Department, her employees’ compensation (EC) disability claim, which was denied by SSS Tarlac Branch, was forwarded last May  4 to the Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC), the government institute that implements the Employees’ Compensation Program, together with the accompanying documents and medical records, for evaluation as to whether her disability is work-connected or not.

We are currently waiting for the result of ECC’s evaluation of Lomboy’s disability claim. To date the ECC board of directors has not yet taken up the case.

We appeal for her understanding. The delays in the processing of her EC disability claim are due to the strict examination of information and documents pertaining to EC benefit claims.
