Light amid darkness

12:03 AM January 30, 2017

Kudos to the Inquirer for the editorial titled “Martial law again” (Opinion, 12/28/16).

It was light amid the darkness of our otherwise convoluted environment. Keep it up!

If June Keithley were alive today, she would have resonated with her call “Never Again.” As in Edsa 1986, we need today a groundswell of public opinions to arouse the sensitivities of our people on what is happening around us.

We have heard it said: When Lynda Jumilla of ABS-CBN asked President Duterte what change(s) in his life, if any, he would like to effect in 2017, he replied, “None. God made me this way. Blame God.” What tenuous thinking!

God, the giver of life, gifted us with freedom in his plan of salvation. He would not force us to go to hell or go to heaven, for that matter. We have the freedom to choose.

May the message of hope be with us in 2017!
